Jeju tourism data for 43 neighborhoods, in working tables
Filter tourist visits, evening spending and oreum crowding by neighborhood with Jeju Tourism Big Data Platform data, then take the results away as ready-to-use notices and CSV files.
How you can use it
① Choosing target areas for night-time tourism
Of the 15 neighborhoods where tourists account for more than half of card sales, 7 see less than 30% of tourist spending after 6 pm (Aug 2025–Jul 2026, BC Card). Udo (an island) and Yongdam 2-dong (the airport) have structural reasons; without them, 5 remain.
| Neighborhood | Spending after 6 pm (%) | Visit rank (of 43) | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Udo-myeon | 5.2% | #35 | Island (ferry hours) |
| Yongdam 2-dong | 20.7% | #1 | Jeju International Airport |
| Andeok-myeon | 24.2% | #3 | |
| Gujwa-eup | 25.9% | #6 | |
| Ildo 1-dong | 27.5% | #27 | Dongmun Market area (stalls and cash not counted) |
| Dodu-dong | 28.4% | #12 | |
| Pyoseon-myeon | 29.2% | #11 |
② Spreading autumn oreum crowds
Pick a month to get a notice that pairs the oreums busier than usual that month with oreums that get relatively fewer cars that month. Below is the October notice.
③ When tourists crowd into one area
Pick a neighborhood and month to see how far visits exceed its monthly average, and which nearby neighborhoods are quieter that month. Below: Aewol-eup, Aug 2025.
Try your own criteria
- Change the area, period, sort metric, evening cut-off (after 6 pm or 9 pm) and the two thresholds (tourist share, evening spending), and the table updates instantly.
- The islands (Udo, Chuja) and the airport (Yongdam 2-dong) can be left out with one checkbox.
- Your settings stay in the address, so you can send the exact view to a colleague with 'Copy link'.
Evening, tourist-share, lodging and restaurant figures are one-year totals (Aug 2025–Jul 2026), so they do not change with the period. The period applies to the tourist-visits column only. Click a neighborhood for all its figures.
Oreum crowd-spreading notices
- Last autumn (Oct–Nov 2025), 56.8% of the 28,186 cars arriving at 95 oreums went to just three: Saebyeol Oreum, Geum Oreum, Yongnuni Oreum.
- The monthly notices below are chosen by a 5-year average monthly index (how much busier than usual), so the names can differ from the top 3 by autumn car counts.
- Pick a month and the notice changes. The notice has no figures, so it can go straight into social media posts, signs or text alerts; the figures are in the table below.
Crowding (×) is a 5-year (2021–2025) average monthly index: ×1.0 is a normal month for that oreum, ×2.0 is twice as busy. Only oreums with 5,000+ arrivals over 5 years are included. 'Busier' oreums have an index of 1.3+ and are ordered by expected cars that month (yearly arrivals × index); 'alternatives' have 3,000+ arrivals a year, an index of 1.2 or below, and are not among that month's 3 busiest.
Autumn actuals: the oreums with the most cars
| Oreum | Autumn arrivals (Oct–Nov 2025, cars) | Autumn share (%) | Cumulative share (%) | 1-year arrivals (Oct 2025–Sep 2026, cars) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Saebyeol Oreum | 8,453 | 30.0% | 30.0% | 29,258 |
| Geum Oreum | 4,226 | 15.0% | 45.0% | 22,263 |
| Yongnuni Oreum | 3,331 | 11.8% | 56.8% | 12,643 |
| Ttarabi Oreum | 1,458 | 5.2% | 62.0% | 3,773 |
| Gunsan Oreum | 1,187 | 4.2% | 66.2% | 6,896 |
Based on TMAP car-navigation arrivals (Oct–Nov 2025); people who walked or came by bus are not counted. Alternatives are chosen only by the monthly rule above.
Busy months by neighborhood and where to redirect
- Pick a neighborhood and month to see how far tourist visits that month exceed the neighborhood's monthly average.
- Up to 3 of the 8 nearest neighborhoods are suggested, nearest first: those whose rise that month is at most half as large and that have lodging spending (1%+ of tourist spending).
- Tourist visits count stays of 30+ minutes, so they are not lodging demand as such.
'Nearby' is the distance between neighborhood centers on the map. Lodging share is the lodging portion of tourist card spending, a sign that an area has places to stay, not a room count. Areas under 1% lodging share and the islands (Udo, Chuja) are excluded.
Downloads
All files are CSV (UTF-8, opens in Excel); the last two columns give the reference period and the source. The 'Try your own criteria' table can be downloaded separately with 'Download this table', and the filters you used are kept in a 'Filters' column and in the file name.

Good to know
- Card spending covers BC Card payments only, so it differs from total sales.
- Tourist visits are based on phone signals, so one person can be counted more than once.
- Oreum figures count only cars using navigation.
- No year-on-year comparison, because the platform announced changes to its counting rules (2026-05-15, 2026-09-07).
- Yongdam 2-dong contains Jeju International Airport, so its visits and spending largely reflect airport use. Udo is an island reached by ferry, so evening stays depend on ferry hours.
- In areas with many street stalls and cash payments, such as Ildo 1-dong (around Dongmun Market), BC Card data can understate evening spending.
- Evening spending is a one-year total, so this page cannot show how the evening share differs by month (for example, August only). Foreign visitors' spending by hour is not included either.
- Yongnuni Oreum's monthly index leaves out the years touched by its rest period (Feb 2021–Jun 2023; reopening reported for Jul 2023) and uses 2024–2025; because of that history it is not suggested as an alternative.
- Iseungak Oreum has been counted as Iseungi Oreum since May 2024, so the two names are combined.
